Have you ever had a someone who was your best friend? You went everywhere together, did everything together and talked everyday on the phone. But life has a way of getting busy, doesn’t it? A new job moves you to a different city. Getting married and having kids makes the relationship that was once so close begin to grow apart. You no longer talk or see each other regularly like you once did. Finally after being apart for so long, you are able to get together. The drive to meet them feels like forever. What will you say? Will it be weird? But you walk in, see each other, and it feels like old times. Hours fly by like minutes. You both laugh until your stomachs hurt and share dreams like you were kids again.
As Easter approaches, we often feel this way about God. Maybe it has been a long time since you talked to God or even have been to church. I want to encourage you that God isn’t angry with you, in fact it is the opposite. He loves you without restraint. He can’t wait to talk to you. “Come close to God, and God will come close to you” (James 4:8). We want to encourage you to come to The Church RC this Sunday. Maybe it has been years since you last came to church or perhaps it has been weeks. Either way God can’t wait to spend time with you!
