“Mom!” My son’s voice was excited over the phone as he told me about his week at camp. From the first day he had watched the kid’s zip line, wanting so much to ride down it, but fear kept him grounded. The last day of camp came, and he marshaled all of his courage to finally do it. He went down the zip line!
“Mom, I realized the things that are the most fun are often the things I am most afraid of doing.”
On the other end of the phone, I began to weep tears of joy. At a kids camp at the age of six, Bear learned what most people don’t learn in their entire lives.
The greatest moments of our lives are also the scariest. If we wait until we are unafraid to step out and try something, then we never will.
What have you been afraid of doing? This week make the decision that you are going to do it!
“Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do” (Joshua 1:7 NKJV).
